Potential Air Control Technologies for Particulate Reduction from Palm Oil Mill Palm Waste
(Officer In-charge: Dr. Hj. Zulkifli Abd. Rahman)
The critical pollutants from palm oil mills are the particulates and black smoke. Under the existing EQA (Clean Air) 1978,Regulation 15 & 16, black smoke emission is not allowed to exceed No. 2 Ringlemann Chart and particulate emission should not exceed 0.4g/Nm3. Only recently the DOE proposed a more stringent limit for particulate emission from 0.4 to 0.15g/Nm3.
Objective:
-
To study the current status of particulate emission
-
To study the boiler efficiency of small and bigger capacity boiler
-
To improve the quality of air emission (black smoke and Particulates) from the palm oil mill fired boiler
-
To evaluate the best control technologies to comply with the stringent regulation.
