Palm-Based Lubricity Additives

Diesel fuel with poor lubricity due to the removal of sulphur and sulphur-containing compounds from hydrotreating process will contribute to wear and tear in the fuel system of diesel engines. Additives must be incorporated to compensate the lubricity loss. A palm-based additive has been developed to replace the petroleum-based additives to improve the lubricity of the ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD) with sulphur content of 50 ppm and below. This additive is prove effective in improving the lubricity of ULSD at treat level lower than 500 ppm.
